It shows the progress made during the first phase of implementation of this Safe Cities pilot programme. Jointly implemented by UN Women and the National Capital District Commission (NCDC), the project is also supported by the New Zealand Aid Programme, the Government of Spain and the Australian Aid Programme (AusAID). During a recent visit from Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard to one of the intervention sites, Gerehu Market, Australia confirmed its support to the programme over the next five years.
